Two Reasons To Get A Glow-In-The-Dark Basketball

If your old basketball deflated recently and you need to replace it, you should consider getting one that glows in the dark. Here are a couple of reasons why this type of basketball could be really useful.

It could allow you to practice at night

Buying a glow-in-the-dark basketball could be a great idea if, due to having a busy schedule, you often don't have time to practice this sport during the day. If you have a glow-in-the-dark basketball, you could fit in a practice session at night before bed. Whether you prefer to play at a public outdoor basketball court or on your driveway, the basketball's illuminated surface will allow you to see and handle it, even when it's dark out.

If you are planning to practice at night and will also be using your own basketball hoop when you practice, you should also get some glow-in-the-dark spray paint and add a coating to the hoop. This will make it easier for you to see and aim for the hoop when you're shooting. It should be noted that whilst this paint can be used on basketball hoops, you cannot effectively apply it to an ordinary basketball to make it visible in the dark, as the paint will chip off the ball's surface each time it bounces off the ground and you'll end up trying to play at night with a half-visible basketball. Instead, you should buy a basketball made from materials that have phosphorescent properties.

You could find it easier to quickly locate your ball

Another reason you might want to get a glow-in-the-dark basketball is that you will find it easier to locate it. For example, if after playing a game of basketball at home, you often toss your ball into your garage or hall closet that you also use to store many other belongings, then you may find that the next time you want to play and need to retrieve your ball, you have to spend a long time searching for it in the messy space. If you had a glow-in-the-dark basketball, all you would have to do is switch off the garage or closet's light, and you would be able to spot the glowing ball in an instant.

Being able to find your basketball very quickly could be particularly helpful on those days when you're late for a game with your friends or only have a brief period during which to squeeze in some practice.

If you're looking for a new basketball to practice with, consider getting a glow-in-the-dark-basketball at your local sports store.
